Merson believes Tottenham will go to Liverpool and win.
Paul Merson has told SkySports that he forecasts a Tottenham win away to Liverpool this weekend.
Spurs visit Anfield on Saturday in the 5.30pm kick-off, hoping to put pressure on league leaders Leicester City, who play Southampton on Sunday.
Tottenham are currently five points behind Leicester, with the match away to Liverpool one of the toughest fixtures they have left to play this season.
Merson said: "I'm going for Spurs. They were very good against Bournemouth last time out and this is a big game that they have to win.
"Some people are saying it's a must-not lose game for Spurs, but I think they need the win with the fixtures they have coming up."
The former Premier League midfielder added that he believes the score will be 2-1 to Tottenham.
Last season Spurs suffered defeat at Anfield, with Mario Balotelli scoring a late winner in a dramatic 3-2 victory for Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp's first game for Liverpool was against Spurs, a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane earlier in the season.
Liverpool have been unpredictable in big games in recent months, suffering losses to both Manchester City and Manchester United, before following them up with big wins, and did manage to beat league leaders Leicester at Anfield back in December.
