The Reds and Tottenham will face each other at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Former Liverpool striker Owen has backed the Merseyside outfit to play out a 1-1 draw with Spurs.
“Liverpool-Tottenham is another tricky game to call, so I will go with 1-1 here, too,” the former England international wrote on Colossusbets.com. “On recent form it is a no-brainer, with Tottenham flying high and their England players also on a high after that 3-2 win in Germany.
"And Liverpool again showed their frustrating side when throwing away a two-goal lead in a 3-2 defeat at Southampton, while their home form continues to be very moderate.
“But Tottenham’s record at Anfield in recent seasons is very poor and we know that Liverpool can turn it on against the better sides, so it is a draw for me.”
Tottenham are a better team than Liverpool and are also in better form, but they will find it hard at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be determined to turn on the style against the Premier League title contenders, and they do have a chance of picking up all three points from the encounter.
Liverpool can step up their game against the bigger teams, and fans will hope that the players do the same against Spurs.
A draw at Anfield would not be a bad result for Tottenham, but at this stage of the season, they need to win all their games in order to keep up with league leaders Leicester City.
