The Leeds defender has been discussing the upcoming Yorkshire derby.
That suggests a rigid, measured approach, perhaps avoiding an attacking, expansive style in case Leeds leak goals for the second Yorkshire derby in a row.
United lost 4-1 at Elland Road to Huddersfield Town and now travel to Rotherham to face the Millers this weekend.
Cooper told LUTV ahead of Saturday's clash: "They're causing a few upsets. We've got to be on top of our game. We've come up with a strategy and hopefully we can stick to that.
"There's not one easy game in the Championship. Hopefully we'll get a few things going for us and we can score a few goals."
Cooper will be key against Rotherham.
With Souleymane Doukara out, Chris Wood will be more or less forced to start and that doesn't guarantee goals for Leeds. That means United need to be as solid as possible defensively.
Leeds can ill afford to concede another high amount of goals to a local rival.
Neil Warnock, meanwhile, will no doubt be relishing facing his former club with Rotherham.
