Aston Villa are on the hunt for a new manager following the dismissal of Remi Garde.
Bruce is considered to be one of the favourites to take over at Villa, after the Midlands side parted company with Remi Garde earlier this week.
And the 55-year-old admits that he is very flatted to be linked with the vacancy, although he insists his full focus is on the task at hand at Hull.
“It’s flattering for any manager, but all I’m concentrating on is here,” he said.
“We’ve worked so hard to turn a disappointing relegation into a promotion push. We’ve got five weeks to go and that’s the only thing I’m interested in at the moment. That’s all I’m focused on.
“It’s very flattering, but there’s no no approaches and I wouldn’t expect there to be.”
Villa are already preparing for life in the Championship, with their relegation now looking inevitable.
The Claret and Blues are currently 12 points adrift of safety with just seven games to go.
It is believed that Villa are now looking for a manager with experience of the Championship, and Bruce fits that description.
The former Manchester United player still has work to do at Hull, though, as they are chasing promotion.
The Tigers are currently in fourth place in the Championship table - five points back from the automatic promotion spaces.
