Report suggests that Sunderland are scouting unknown Austrian international

Sunderland scouts have been watching the Austrian international team recently.

International football has been in full flow this week and that means Premier League clubs have been sending scouts out to cast their eye on top talent ahead of potential moves in the summer.

It is becoming clear that Sunderland were one such team and that they are after an Austrian international.

The Shields Gazette is reporting that Sunderland had scouts in attendance for the Austria v Turkey game on Tuesday night – along with scouts from Everton, Stoke City and Leicester City.

The same report claims that this is the second time Sunderland have watched Austria in action. Black Cats scouts apparently took in an Austria Euro 2016 qualifier in the Autumn.

The report names the impressive Austrian defenders Martin Hinteregger and Aleksandar Dragovic – but does not suggest that either the Borussia Monchengladbach or Dynamo Kiev duo is the target Sunderland are considering.

Austrian football is certainly on the up and talented players such as Zlatko Junuzovic or Rubin Okotie would rightly be on their radar.

So Sunderland fans might need to expect the pursuit of an Austrian this summer.
