Lamela, 24, was signed from Italian side Roma back in the summer of 2013, and having hit 15 goals in his final season with the Serie A giants, Lamela arrived with huge expectations.
Signed as the replcement for Gareth Bale, Lamela endured a torrid debut season in the Premier League hitting just one goal in only 17 appearances as he struggled with form and fitness.
Last season was slightly better for Lamela under his compatriot Mauricio Pochettino, but this season we have finally seen the true Lamela at White Hart Lane.
With nine goals and five assists, Lamela has truly turned his career around under Pochettino, and he is set to be rewarded for his superb performances this season with a new contract.
The Daily Mail report that Lamela, whose current deal expires in 2018, will sign a new contract imminently, tying his future to the club for the long-term.
It's also suggested that Lamela will earn a significant wage increase on his current deal, which is allegedly worth £45,000-a-week, capping off a superb turnaround from the Argentinian international over the last two years.
