The Belgian midfielder has had his best season yet in a Spurs shirt.
Tottenham Hotspur’s magnificent season has been largely credited to the likes of Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld and Harry Kane.
Alli has added the unknown streak to the team, Alderweireld has tidied up the defence whilst Kane has bagged the goals once again.
But it is easy to forget the importance of Mousa Dembele in what has been an excellent campaign from the Belgian midfielder.
His performances this season have certainly left one former Arsenal player impressed.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ on Thursday (31/03/16) Ray Parlour was asked to point out who has impressed him most for Spurs this season, and went with the Belgian:
"For me Dembele has been superb.
"He has really stepped up when the competition has got tough in that midfield area I think he is the one.
"He's strong, he's great on the ball, he can hold players off. He has been instrumental in that midfield. Along with Alli and Dier as well, but he has been absolutely brilliant.
"You can see his strength, he has done that all season. I think the Tottenham fans have really enjoyed watching him this season. Enjoyed his energy, enjoyed the way he has played and he has been a real part of why Tottenham are doing so well."
Dembele had struggled to settle at Spurs in the past. Injuries and form both let him down but this season he has got himself fully fit and is thriving in the Spurs midfield – leaving the likes of Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb out of the reckoning.
He has played 30 times for Tottenham this season and scored four goals in undoubtedly his best term at White Hart Lane since making the move from Fulham in 2012.
Spurs fans will hope he can carry on his form to bring silverware to the club this campaign.
