Tyler Walker is set to spend the rest of the season on loan at Burton Albion from Nottingham Forest.
Tyler Walker has told Burton Albion’s official site, that the Brewers' desire to sign him was a key factor in why he chose to join them from Nottingham Forest.
Burton pushed hard to get Walker on board, and they eventually managed to secure the forward on loan until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old says that Clough’s faith in him has given him great confidence, and he is looking forward to trying to help his new side out for the rest of the season.
“If Nigel believes in me and I believe in myself, I’m sure I can help in this league, by stretching defences and getting behind them with pace, unlocking them and trying to score some goals," he said.
“The fact that the Gaffer wanted me here and was keen to get the loan done was a big factor in me coming here and now I just want to play some football.”
Walker made his debut for Burton on Monday evening, when he came off the substitutes’ bench at half-time against Millwall.
His first appearance ended in a defeat, with Clough’s side losing 2-0 at the Den.
That defeat has damaged Burton’s chances of winning the League One title, with both Wigan Athletic and Walsall now hot on their heels.
The Brewers have led the third tier for much of the campaign so far, but it will be Walker’s task to find the goals to fire them to promotion.
Walker has made 21 senior appearances for Forest during his career to date, but he has only found the back of the net once.
