Liverpool's Alberto Moreno admits he has a lot to learn; explains what Klopp wants from him

The Liverpool defender knows what he has to work on.

Liverpool full-back Alberto Moreno has been speaking to the club’s official website about the need for him to improve his overall game in order to reach his potential at Anfield.

The 23-year-old has played 80 times for Liverpool to date including 39 times this season. However, he has explained that Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has been working with him to ensure he gets better in the years ahead.

“He always says he wants me to attack but above all I have to defend and be in my position,” Moreno told liverpoolfc.com.

“I am 23 years old now and I have a lot left to learn, a lot to improve and a lot to grow as a player. The fans will see a lot more of Alberto Moreno.”

The Spaniard has come in for plenty of criticism since arriving at Anfield but there is little doubt he has improved recently and it will be interesting to watch his battle with Nathaniel Clyne and Jon Flanagan for a starting spot at full-back in the campaigns ahead.

If anyone can get the best out of Moreno it is Klopp, and it is refreshing to hear a young player admit there is still plenty for him to work on before he reaches his peak.

Next up for Liverpool is a huge Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield this weekend.
