England fans react on Twitter to Tottenham defender Kyle Walker's performance

The performance of Tottenham's Kyle Walker divided opinion...

Kyle Walker was given a chance to stake his claim for England for the right-back spot this summer, given the nod ahead of Nathaniel Clyne.

Clyne has been England's first choice for most of their Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, with Walker missing part of it through injury, but the Tottenham defender has bounced back this season with a series of excellent performances for his club.

He provided the assist for England's first half goal against Holland, pulling the ball back unselfishly for Jamie Vardy to finish off a terrific team move.

Walker though was not quite so composed at time defensively, with Holland's winner starting from a move down his right hand side.

If there was one aspect of his game which needed improving it was his crossing, failing to find a teammate with any of his attempts.

He made two tackles - more than any other England defender, one interception, and four clearances, while completing 84 per cent of his passes.

Walker certainly did his chances for Euro 2016 no harm, and looks a safe bet to make the squad. It is up to Roy Hodgson whether he did enough to make his starting XI.

Fans were split on how he performed at Wembley, as England slipped to a 2-1 loss...
