Three potential Bosman signings for Sunderland - Including Sam Allardyce favourite Joey O'Brien

Sunderland will need to bring in new players, whether they are in the Premier League or the Championship.

It is not yet clear what division Sunderland will be playing in next season but the club must begin preparing for next term regardless.

The club need to improve on their poor campaign so far and new arrivals will be welcomed at the Stadium of Light.

So who should Sunderland bring in the summer?

Here are three potential options…

Roman Neustadter – Schalke 04

Certainly one for the Premier League.

The German international can play in a number of positions, including centre-back and holding midfield.

Plenty of teams are said to be after him but if he is available Sunderland should be in the running.

Joey O’Brien – West Ham

The defender could be perfect for the club, regardless of what division they are in.

Sam Allardyce will know him well from his time at Bolton and West Ham and the Irishman is a versatile option who play across the back-four.

A great utility player for the squad.

Martin Harnik – Stuttgart

The Austrian international is once again probably an option for the Premier League.

He is also versatile and can play on the wing or through the middle of attack.

Hard working and adaptable he would fit into Big Sam’s plans with ease.
