A new manager is not expected to be named until their relegation to the Championship is confirmed.
Garde left the club by mutual consent on Tuesday evening following intense speculation about his future in recent weeks.
It brought about an end to a disastrous reign at Villa Park with the club now looking certain to be relegated to the Championship.
And Bernstein, Bevington and Little are the men that have been tasked with finding his replacement, according to Sky Sports.
They are not likely to have an easy job in doing so though, given the club’s current and well-publicised problems.
As far as the report is concerned the three men will take a realistic approach to the appointment because of the negativity current surrounding Villa Park.
An announcement is not expected immediately either, with it more likely to come once the club’s relegation to the Championship has been confirmed.
Currently former Everton and Manchester United boss David Moyes is among the favourites, while former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is also a contender.
