The Dane had an eventful evening against some of his club teammates.
Scotland took on Denmark last night in an international friendly between two teams who will not be at the European Championships this summer.
It was also a tie which saw a Celtic player get a chance to face some of his club teammates in international action.
Danish defender Erik Sviatchenko only joined Celtic in the winter from Danish side FC Midtjylland and has been a Danish international since this time last year.
He was playing in his fifth cap for Denmark and went up against Celtic team-mates such as ‘keeper Craig Gordon, left-back debutant Kieran Tierney, midfield stalwart Scott Brown and utility man Charlie Mulgrew after coming on as a 64th minute substitute for Daniel Agger.
Today he posted this message on his Facebook page regarding the fixture and he was clearly pleased to face up with some club mates – while he also made reference to the main talking point from the game:
The talking point relates to his still standing comment. The Celtic defender was on the receiving end of a crunching tackle from Leeds United loanee Liam Bridcutt which left the Danish players furious.
But Celtic fans, and players, will just be pleased to see he came out of the tackle unscathed.
