Payet has been tasked with being West Ham’s main creative influence this season, and he has taken on talismanic status at Upton Park.
With the focus on the Hammers increasing by the game, as they chase a top four space, the pressure may have caused some players to crumble.
However, Payet says that he thrives under the added attention, and he is confident that West Ham can make it into the Champions League qualification spaces.
“Not at all. I love the pressure because it allows me to keep motivated and stay focused,” Payet said, when quizzed on whether the pressure on him could affect his form.
“I think we started the season well and we are fighting with a lot of teams in around fifth place. We are gradually making are way and I think we will finish off the job.”
West Ham have put together a wonderful campaign, and they are currently one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League.
Slaven Bilic’s side are hot on the heels of both Arsenal and Manchester City, as they chase a place in the top four.
Payet’s form has been a major reason behind West Ham’s success, as he netted eight goals and created eight assists in 23 Premier League matches to date.
West Ham are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Crystal Palace at Upton Park.
