Report: Aston Villa's players seriously unhappy about managerial situation at the club

Aston Villa

Aston Villa's board are reportedly trying to agree a compensation package with Remi Garde.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa’s players are currently ‘seriously unhappy’ about the managerial situation at the club.

Villa are in the strange position of having a manager in charge who seemingly has no future at the club.

Remi Garde has reportedly told Villa that he does not intend to stay for the long-term (Daily Mirror), but the club have not been able to agree a compensation package with the French boss.

As a result, Garde remains at the helm - and he is taking training as normal, despite it seemingly being just a matter of time before he is dismissed.

Villa reportedly want Steve Bruce, Nigel Pearson or Sean Dyche (Express and Star) to take over from Garde next season, as they plan for life in the Championship.

Villa’s players are reportedly deeply unhappy about the uncertainty over their manager’s future, with the mood in camp believed to be very poor.

Villa are currently 12 points adrift of safety and they have lost their last six matches in succession.

The Claret and Blues’ next match comes against Chelsea at the weekend.
