Photos: Dimitri Payet and Hugo Lloris feature for France

Dimitri Payet and Hugo Lloris were in action as France beat Russia tonight.

Dimitri Payet celebrated his 29th birthday in stunning fashion as the West Ham United man scored a wonderful free kick in France's 4-2 win over Russia tonight.

Days after impressing in Les Bleus' win over the Netherlands, Payet sent an ever bigger message to coach Didier Deschamps over his Euro 2016 hopes by further reminding Europe of his set-piece wizardry.

On 64 minutes, the Hammers' fan favourite executed a quite brilliant free kick to put his nation 3-1 ahead in tonight's friendly. Despite the cracker, few can be surprised given the calibre of some of his free kicks this season, and even he does not look overly surprised anymore.

Leicester City's rising star N'Golo Kante had opened the scoring as he too strengthened his hopes of reaching Deschamps' Euro 2016 squad.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, who did not face the Dutch last week, was recalled by Deschamps tonight, and he looked to be fulfilling his captain duties in one snap.
