Le Tissier queries Cresswell and Noble exclusions from England squad

The West Ham United duo missed out on England's squad to face Germany and Holland.

Matt Le Tissier has added his voice to those questioning why West Ham United duo Aaron Cresswell and Mark Noble aren’t in the England squad, via the Mirror.

The duo has enjoyed fine campaigns for the Hammers so far, with their side currently competing for a Champions League place.

That has not been enough to earn them an England call up though, with both left out of Roy Hodgson’s squad to face Germany and Holland in this international break.

Their exclusion has caused outrage, particularly among West Ham fans, and Le Tissier is the latest to question why they aren’t being given their chance to impress.

“One player who has impressed me is Aaron Cresswell at West Ham,” he told the Mirror.

“For me, we have missed an opportunity to have a look at another left back and Cresswell has performed well for West Ham.”

“[And] you look at some of the midfielders who have played for England over the last few years and think ‘blimey, how has he won a cap and yet Noble, who has been so consistent over a long period of time, has got no caps whatsoever?

The debate over Noble is certainly one that is set to run for a number of years, although this latest snub suggests a call up will never happen.

Given his form this year then this international break was arguably the best ever time to make it into the squad.

That hasn’t happened though, and with England’s midfield currently a competitive one to say the least, it is hard to see how he will make it in future.
