Georginio Wijnaldum was positive about his Newcastle experience when asked at the weekend.
Newcastle United winger Georginio Wijnaldum was quizzed over his season at the club during the international break.
Wijnaldum is currently away with Holland, and spoke to SoccerNews, insisting he knew what he was getting himself into when he joined the club, and has no regrets.
The winger won the league with PSV Eindhoven last year in his homeland, but is in the midst of a relegation fight this time around with Newcastle.
He said: "I knew it was difficult because they had a tough year last year I made the choice with the full confidence and I still do not regret it."
Newcastle are currently in 19th place, but Wijnaldum has personally done well, currently their top goalscorer with nine, and he provided the assist for Aleksandar Mitrovic's vital equaliser in their last Premier League game against Sunderland.
Wijnaldum was a substitute at the weekend as Holland lost 3-2 to France, and could feature against England at Wembley this evening.
Newcastle fans will simply hope he comes through unscathed to play in their must win game against fellow relegation battlers Norwich City this weekend.
