Everton fans react on Twitter to Deulofeu’s performance for Spain U21s

Toffees fans hit out at manager Roberto Martinez for leaving Deulofeu out in recent months.

Everton fans have reacted on Twitter after Gerard Deulofeu once again impressed for Spain’s Under-21 team.

The forward grabbed the only goal of the game as Albert Celades’ side beat Norway 1-0 in a friendly on Monday.

It was the latest impressive display for the Everton man as captain of his country’s youth side, with him now standing on 14 goals in 26 Spain Under-21 appearances.

And his performance did not go unnoticed by Toffees fans, who questioned why he has been absent from their team in recent months with him performing so well.

Whether Deulofeu can now convince Roberto Martinez to return him to the first team remains to be seen.

With Aaron Lennon performing so well on the right wing, it certainly seems he will have to content himself with a spot on the bench for the foreseeable future.

One solution could be starting him in an unfamiliar left wing position, with that having been a trouble area for the team this season.

Kevin Mirallas has failed to make the role his own, while Tom Cleverley has looked uncomfortable when used in the position.
