Derby are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, and they remain one of the favourites to be promoted to the Premier League this season.
And Bryson says that his side’s failures in the last two campaigns have made them even more motivated to ensure that they are playing top flight football next season.
“We’re in a good position and with eight games to go we are in with a shout of getting promoted,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter how you do it – first, second or in the play-offs – the main thing is being in the Premier League next season.
“If we have to do it via the play-offs then so be it – we have experience of being involved in that situation and know what it’s like to miss out so hopefully it will drive us on even more.”
Derby’s succession of near misses started in the 2013/14 campaign, when they made it all the way to the play off final before being beaten by Queens Park Rangers.
The Rams dominated for much of that match, but a late strike from Bobby Zamora caused heartbreak.
Derby were then the front runners to be promoted last season, but a late collapse saw them fall from the top two to outside of the play offs.
The Rams seem unlikely to fall away in the same manner this campaign, as they have won four of their last eight matches.
Derby have a great chance to consolidate their position in the play offs at the weekend, as they take on seventh placed Cardiff City in their next fixture.
