Two Tottenham players with question marks over their futures

Tom Carroll low quality

Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll could struggle to remain at Tottenham Hotspur next season.

Ryan Mason

Ryan Mason has been on the books of Tottenham Hotspur since 2007 and has a contract until June 2020.

The England international midfielder enjoyed a good season at Tottenham during the 2014-15 campaign, but he is now struggling to play regularly.

Injuries have played a part, but there can be no denial that there are better and younger players at White Hart Lane.

Dele Alli and Eric Dier have been superb in midfield this season, and it is hard to see the 24-year-old breaking that partnership anytime soon.

Mason has played 15 times in the Premier League for Spurs so far this season, scoring one goal and creating nine chances in the process.

Would the Englishman be happy as a squad player at Tottenham next season?

Tom Carroll

Tom Carroll has been on the books of Tottenham his entire professional career so far, but his current contract runs out at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old is a talented midfielder, but it is hard to see how he could get a new deal.

The former England Under-21 international has made 18 appearances in the Premier League so this campaign, scoring one goal and creating eight chances in the process.

Carroll’s performances have been mixed, and one suspects that he will have to do much more in order to earn a new deal.

Moreover, the 23-year-old is not a regular starter, and it is unlikely that he will be so next season if he is given a new deal.
