Tottenham are reported to be interested in Lukas Klostermann.

Tottenham are interested in signing German under-21 international Lukas Klostermann.

The Sun reported in their print edition on Sunday 27th April (p64), that Spurs are scouting the defender, who plays for second tier side Red Bull Leipzig.

Klostermann plays predominantly at right-back but is capable of playing at centre-back or at left-back, having featured in all three positions for his side this season.

The 19-year-old has scored once and provided four assists, in 23 league games.

He has four caps for Germany's under-21 side, and also represented his country at under-17 and under-19 level.

Klostermann has been at Leipzig for two seasons having signed from Bochum, and has a contract which runs until June. 2018.

German website DerWesten also report the links, citing, adding that Ajax are also monitoring the young defender.

With Kyle Walker, Kieran Trippier, and DeAndre Yedlin out on loan, Tottenham are not in need of a new right-back, while Kyle Walker-Peters is also a promising alternative in their under-21 side.

Yet given Klostermann's versatility and head coach Mauricio Pochettino's vision, as demonstrated with Eric Dier's transition into midfield, there could yet be a role for him at Spurs in an alternate role if he were to sign in the summer.
