McAleny had missed Wigan's previous four games through injury, and made a big impact upon his return by scoring the only goal in a crucial 1-0 victory.
He now has three goals in seven games for the Latics since joining on loan earlier this year.
Great to be back out there today. Brilliant work from the lads this weekend.. We go again Saturday now! #7togo— Conor McAleny (@CMcAleny) March 28, 2016
He had played six times for Everton's under-21 side this season, scoring once and providing four assists.
At 23, McAleny faces an uphill task to establish himself at Everton at this stage of his career, although he does have one more year left under contract at the club.
Strong performances for Wigan on loan will strengthen his case, but he could also become a target for a permanent move for the Latics, especially if he helps them win promotion back to the Championship.
Wigan are in the second automatic promotion spot at present, with McAleny's goal ensuring there remains a six point gap above third place Walsall, who have two games in hand.
