Neil Lennon makes confident prediction of Rangers v Celtic outcome

Ibrox side Rangers will take on Old Firm rivals Celtic in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup next month.

Former Bolton Wanderers manager Neil Lennon has told The Daily Record that Celtic will win against Rangers in the Scottish Cup next month.

The Bhoys will take on Old Firm rivals Rangers in the semi-finals of the prestigious cup competition at Hampden Park in Glasgow in April.

Former Celtic midfielder and manager Lennon has backed Ronny Deila’s side to win the game and progress to the final of the Scottish Cup.

“I just think that with the big-game experience Celtic have, they will win,” Lennon told The Daily Record. “I’m not sure Warburton’s Rangers side will have come up against as good a team as Celtic yet. Like all Old Firm games, it will be about who performs on the day.

“However, there is a gap between the two sides. It may not be as big as it was when the two clubs met last season but it is still there.”

Celtic have the strongest squad in Scotland, but Rangers can give the Hoops a run for their money.

Rangers could win the Scottish Championship title as early as this coming weekend, and that will certainly enhance their confidence of getting the better of the Hoops.

Gers boss Mark Warburton has some very good players, who will all be determined to showcase their quality against Celtic.

True, Celtic will head into the match as favourites because they have a better squad, but in a derby and in a one-off game, anything is possible.
