The Liverpool midfielder has been appointed skipper for the friendly against the Netherlands.
Indeed, Lineker is 'interested' in the fact the Liverpool man has been named captain for England's friendly against the Netherlands on Tuesday night.
And the former striker feels the Reds midfielder isn't nailed on for a place at Euro 2016. He tweeted:
Interesting that England's various captains are the ones whose places in the squad appear most vulnerable. Tough choices lie ahead for Roy.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) March 28, 2016
Milner continues to be valued by managers - this time Roy Hodgson and Jurgen Klopp - when his lack of end product has alienated him among many Liverpool and England fans.
Sometimes, it's difficult to understand exactly what the midfielder offers at either Anfield or Wembley.
He runs - a lot. But sometimes a player who runs less and actually does more is far more useful.
Lineker is clearly skeptical over Milner's England chances. But is the Liverpool man being given the captaincy a sign he is highly rated by Hodgson, or simply that there aren't many other experienced options?
