Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has suggested in The Sun that he was right when he claimed that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is worth £90 million.
I cost £15m I wasn't worth that but it was my market value therefore on market value I'd pay £80-90m to get Kane— Alan Shearer (@alanshearer) January 10, 2016
Following the 22-year-old striker’s heroics for England against Germany in a friendly international in Berlin at the weekend, Shearer has suggested that he was right in his bold claim about the youngster.
“It was around three months ago on television that I said someone will be paying up to £90million for Kane one day and my opinion was questioned,” Shearer wrote in The Sun.
“If anyone has any doubts that he is the real deal, that moment of brilliance to bring England back into the game might have persuaded them otherwise.
“I never tried anything like that. It was three pieces of brilliance in one — the turn, the touch and the pin-point shot into the corner.”
Kane is having yet another great season and is one of the best strikers in the Premier League at the moment.
While £90m for the Englishman sounds a bit steep, if a club is willing to pay that much for the Tottenham striker, then he is worth that.
The England international striker scored 21 goals and created 37 chances in 31 Premier League matches for Tottenham so far this season.
