Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli put in a highly impressive performance for England against Germany.
Alli’s rise to prominence was further highlighted in England’s recent friendly against Joachim Loew’s side, as he started in the number 10 role for the Three Lions.
The 19-year-old did not look overawed by the occasion either, and Collymore felt that Germany couldn’t deal with the youngster, at times.
"Credit to Alli," Collymore said. "There were times in the game when Khedira in particular looked like he couldn’t deal with him.
"The Spurs teenager made run after run off him and Khedira did not know which way to turn. And it was not just Khedira who looked flustered by his movement at times."
Alli helped England come from 2-0 down to win at the Olympic Stadium by putting in a magnificent performance.
Despite being handed a great deal of responsibility, he coped admirably with the pressure and showed an ability that belied his tender years.
Alli orchestrated many of England’s attacks, and his performance helped boost his claim for a place in Roy Hodgson’s starting line-up at EURO 2016.
England scored their goals against Germany through Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Jamie Vardy.
The Three Lions’ next match comes against Holland on Tuesday evening.
