Rangers beat Queen of the South 4-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers moved another step closer to winning the Scottish Championship after beating Queen of the South 4-3 at Ibrox on Saturday afternoon.

The Gers took an early lead as Harry Forrester continued his fine recent form with the opening goal, but Iain Russell hit back from the penalty spot for the Doonhamers.

Rangers then ran riot in the second half, as three goals from Michael O'Halloran, Andy Halliday and James Tavernier inside nine second half minutes put Mark Warburton's men 4-1 up before a late wobble.

Gary Oliver and Mark Millar pulled back late goals for Queen of the South, but Rangers held on for all three points in an entertaining 4-3 victory at Ibrox.

After the game, fans took to Twitter and singled out the first goalscorer, Harry Forrester, for great praise yet again after another superb performance.

The January signing from Doncaster had scored three goals in his previous five games, and having only signed a six-month contract at Ibrox, he has done his prospects of winning a new deal no harm.

Rangers fans admitted that, after a slow start, Forrester has become a key player, and urged manager Warburton to get the attacking midfielder's contract extended as soon as possible having starred yet again on Saturday afternoon.
