The Liverpool midfielder impressed for the Three Lions
While Tottenham Hotspur’s players stole the show for England against Germany, Liverpool fans can be incredibly proud of their players’ performances in the recent friendly match, especially those of right-back Nathaniel Clyne and midfielder Adam Lallana.
The latter has excelled since Jurgen Klopp took charge at Anfield earlier this season and if he can replicate his best form this summer, Lallana could be key for England at Euro 2016.
The former Southampton player featured for the first 71 minutes on Saturday evening before being replaced by Everton’s Ross Barkley, and he should be pleased with his overall contribution.
Lallana has played 38 times for Liverpool so far this season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in the process, and on this evidence he will play a big role for the Three Lions later this year.
Lallana’s versatility will come in very handy for manager Roy Hodgson but he will have to maintain his high standards or risk losing out to the likes of Barkley.
After England’s match we took to Twitter to see what Liverpool fans thought of Lallana’s latest performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
Clyne and Lallana were superb tonight but I agree Henderson was average missing chances. #LFC— Jake LFC Reynolds (@Reynolds99Jake) March 27, 2016
