Leicester City winger Demarai Gray’s performance caught the eye during England under-21’s match against Switzerland yesterday.
Gray was selected to start by Gareth Southgate for the Three Lions' under-21 side, and he showed why Leicester chose to sign him from Birmingham City in the January transfer window.
The wide man was a constant menace throughout the fixture, as he tormented the Swiss defence.
Gray set up England’s goal in the contest, as he skilfully weaved through the Swiss backline before teeing up Chuba Akpom.
It looked like that goal was set to give the Three Lions the victory, but Switzerland managed to hit back to claim a 1-1 draw. Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe was also sent off in added time.
Despite the disappointment of throwing away the three points, England fans were still encouraged by their side’s display and Gray earned particular praise on social media site Twitter.

Demarai Gray has been excellent - skilful and expressive, but in an efficient way. His cut-back to Chuba Akpom has England one-up.— Seb Stafford-Bloor (@SebSB) March 26, 2016
England’s under-21’s are currently three points clear at the top of group nine in Euro 2017 qualifying. Their next fixture comes against Norway in September.
