Nottingham Forest will finally come out of their transfer embargo in the summer thanks to the summer sale of Michail Antonio to West Ham United.
That means they will not need to be scrounging in the Bosman market – but they might want to.
The club will still need to be reasonably frugal in the transfer market and there is a good list of free transfers out there.
So here are three they should consider…
Artjoms Rudnevs – Hamburg
A striker or two must be a priority at Forest – especially with Nelson Oliveira not returning.
The Latvian striker Rudnevs might be a good option.
He was a goal machine during his time in Hungary and Poland prior to joining Hamburg – where he was a team-mate of current Forest player Michael Mancienne.
If he could rediscover that form, he would be a great addition.
Gerso – Estoril
A new winger will need to be brought in. Ryan Mendes is departing and whilst Oliver Burke is emerging, he needs to be managed carefully.
Guinea-Bissau winger Gerso would be a wonderful addition. A fast and tricky winger he would be a cheap and unknown threat to Championship defences.
Darron Gibson – Everton
With Gary Gardner only on loan, Andy Reid still injured and Robert Tesche set to leave a new central midfielder could be key.
Gibson will no doubt be on the radar of many top Championship clubs but Forest could certainly do with him in the heart of midfield.
The only concern, his injury record – Forest don’t need another crock.
