The striker's dad believes his son should join Bayern Munich or Manchester United.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku will have been left cringing by his father’s comments about his future, Ian Snodin has told the Liverpool Echo.

The Belgian striker has been in sensation form for the Toffees this season scoring 25 goals in all competitions so far.

His performances have not gone unnoticed, with a number of rumours about his future currently doing the rounds.

His father recently commented on those, saying that his son should look to join Bayern Munich or Manchester United in the summer.

The comments were worrying for Everton, but Snodin says that the player will have been left cringing by his father’s decision to share his opinion.

“Comments from Lukaku's dad Roger would almost certainly have made the striker cringe,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“I'm sure the player's agent is a bit annoyed, too. I can't understand why Lukaku's father felt it necessary to come out and say anything on the subject of his son's future.”

“There will be enquiries about Lukaku in the weeks and months to come but the striker should remember we now have a new investor at the club who is willing to spend money and attract good players this summer.”

Moshiri’s investment is certainly something that Lukaku should bear in mind when considering his future this summer.

While he may have been disappointed with how Roberto Martinez’s side have fared this season, Moshiri’s investment offers a chance of a serious improvement in the coming years.

The new investor has already stated that funds will be available in the summer and the Belgian should wait to see what comes of that before trying to make an exit.
