Rangers could gain automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership as early as next weekend.
The Gers continued their good run of form in the league with a 4-3 victory over Queen of the South at Ibrox in Glasgow in the Scottish Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Second-placed Falkirk lost 2-1 to Livingston at home, meaning that Rangers are now 14 points clear at the top of the table.
If Mark Warburton’s side win against Raith Rovers away from home at Stark's Park next weekend and Hibernian fail to pick up all three points against St Mirren at St Mirren Park, then the Gers will clinch the Scottish Championship title.
Results today mean @RangersFC can win the Championship title next weekend if they win at Stark's Park & Hibs fail to win away to St Mirren.— Rangers FC (@RangersFC) March 26, 2016
It seems that it is only a matter of time before Rangers gain automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
Warburton can then start planning for next season and start looking at potential signings in the summer transfer window.
Rangers have the strongest squad in the Scottish Championship, but the Gers do need to reinforce themselves in order to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title next season.
