Confirmed England line-up: Four Tottenham players start, Sturridge on the bench

Three Lions close

Germany and England meet in Berlin in an international friendly this evening.

England line-up: Butland; Clyne, Smalling, Cahill, Rose; Dier, Henderson; Welbeck, Alli, Lallana; Kane.

England substitutes: Walker, Forster, Walcott, Stones, Jagielka, Milner, Drinkwater, Vardy, Barkley, Sturridge, Heaton.

England's preparations for this summer's European Championships in France begin with a trip to Berlin this evening, as they take on Germany.

The Three Lions coasted through qualifying for Euro 2016, winning all ten of their group games, scoring 31 goals and conceding just three to book their place in France this summer.

Tonight, manager Roy Hodgson has been able to experiment with parts of his side, as experienced players like Joe Hart and Wayne Rooney are out through injury.

That means that Stoke City's Jack Butland starts in goal, whilst four Tottenham players - Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane - all start after superb seasons for the Premier League title challengers.

Danny Welbeck's fine recent form hands him a start, whilst the likes of Theo Walcott, John Stones, Ross Barkley, Daniel Sturridge and Leicester City duo Danny Drinkwater and Jamie Vardy on the bench.

World champions Germany line up with a strong side at the Olympiastadion, as the likes of Manuel Neuer, Mats Hummels, Toni Kroos, Thomas Muller, Mesut Ozil and Marco Reus all start, along with Liverpool's Emre Can.
