The report claims that Borussia Moenchengladbach have confirmed the signing of Tobias Strobl for this summer, a player who is expected to replace the West Ham-linked Nordtveit.
Nordtveit has already spoken of his plans to leave Gladbach and return to England this summer, having previously spent three years as a youngster at Arsenal before moving to Germany.
With West Ham very much in the driving seat to sign the Norway international, fans can begin to get excited at the prospect of a real top quality player joining their ranks this summer.
|Team||Goals||Assists||Interceptions per Game||Effective Clearances per Game||Aerial Duels Won per Game||Accurate Passes per Game||Pass-accuracy||Games Played|
|Havard Nordtveit||Borussia Moenchen-gladbach||4||1||1.6||2.2||2.4||54.2||83%||24|
As shown the in the table above, Nordtveit is very much an all-round action-packed style of player as he can play in a number of positions including centre-back, full back and defensive midfield.
The majority of his 24 Bundesliga appearances this season have come at centre-back, though in seven games he did feature in midfield and showed his capabilities both on and off the ball.
Nordtveit is a very able passer, averaging an 83% pass-accuracy rate this season while also posting 1.6 tackles, 2.2 effective clearances and 2.4 aerial duels won per league encounter.
But his most impressive statistic is his contribution going forward - chipping in with four goals and one assist despite predominantly being a defensive-minded player.
With Alex Song expected to leave the Hammers this summer, boss Slaven Bilic needs to bring in extra options through the middle and Nordtveit, 25, represents an exciting option.
