The former manager is now an advisor to the new-look board.
The former player and manager has returned to the club as a football advisor to the board after a restructuring in recent weeks.
He will be hoping to help them turn around the club’s fortunes as they sit bottom of the Premier League table and look destined to be playing Championship football next season.
The club’s fans have warmly welcomed his return and Taylor has expressed his delight at the appointment.
“First off, I've got to say I'm delighted with the return to the Club of Brian Little. It's fantastic news - he's got all the credentials,” he told avfc.co.uk.
“He's a former player, former manager and he's done a host of jobs here off the field too during his association with the club.”
“I think he can bring a lot to the set-up here at Villa. What will be bring? Great contacts in the game. He's been in the game for a long time, knows how it works and has a wealth of experience at all levels.”
One of Little’s first duties looks likely to be advising the board on their next appointment as manager.
Remi Garde looks set to leave the club in the summer, or even before, after a less than impressive time in charge since replacing Tim Sherwood at Villa Park.
Who the club names as his replacement will be crucial to the club’s future, with another poor appointment only likely to worsen the situation they currently find themselves in.
Little though, will be hoping his knowledge and experience can stop that happening.
