The Leeds United midfielder has not brushed up on his London landmarks.
This season saw Rotherham United snap up plenty of former Leeds United players whilst managed by former Leeds youth and head coach Neil Redfearn.
One such player was goalkeeper Alex Cairns. He left Leeds for Chesterfield in the summer but after struggling for action with the Spireites jumped at the chance to join up with Redfearn at the New York Stadium.
But it seems he remains good friends with at least one of his former Leeds team-mates – although he embarrassed him on Twitter earlier today.
It appears that Cairns and Leeds midfield maestro Alex Mowatt took a trip to the capital this Good Friday – but Mowatt was not exactly well acquainted with the landmarks of the capital:
Driving past the Tower of London and @alex_mowatt comes out with 'what's that? Is that where the queen lives' can't cope— Alex Cairns (@AlexCairns30) March 25, 2016
The tweet clearly tickled one former Leeds player as well. Sam Byram, who left Elland Road for West Ham United in January, tweeted this response to the tweet:
Of course Mowatt will see the funny side of the ribbing from his former team-mates.
Leeds fans will just be hoping that Mowatt was in London for pleasure and not business as they look to keep hold of the midfielder – and not lose him to the capital like Byram.
