The Argentine has recently agreed a permanent deal to remain at West Ham.
The deal was confirmed today as the Argentine arrives at the club from United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira, after originally signing on a season long loan deal in the summer.
The 23-year-old midfielder has been fantastic for the club since his arrival in the summer, although is often overlooked because of the performances of fellow summer arrival Dimitri Payet.
But West Ham legend Tony Gale is a massive fan.
Speaking on Sky Sports News HQ today (24/03/16) Gale, who played over 300 games for West Ham, lavished praise on the talented midfield maestro:
“They’ve just signed Lanzini. That is such a great permanent signing.
“This is a kid who Slaven says is his little Modric, (who he worked with) for Croatia. Modric was a joy to behold in the Premier League.
“He runs the ball between the lines. Everyone pass-pass-pass this kid runs with the ball. It is so good to see that we have got them real players that, even if you lose, they’re worth watching.”
Lanzini, who scored a great strike against Chelsea at the weekend, has been a revelation this season. He has scored six goals for the club in 22 appearances this season and was desperately missed when he suffered an injury problem earlier in the season.
Comparisons to Real Madrid star Luka Modric may appear premature but he is certainly a similar player and if he can have the same impact at West Ham as the Croatian did at London rivals Tottenham Hotspur then West Ham have a cult hero in the making.
