Five questions in five minutes with owner and former MasterChef finalist, Natalie Allen
It’s nearly the start of British Summer time, with the Easter bank holiday upon us and MasterChef back on tele. Everything is good with the world. Given that Easter is the weekend for eating all things sweet I thought it would be nice to catch up with former MasterChef finalist, and Queen of Cakes, Natalie Allen.
I tend to describe Sweet Things as a Cakery, bakeries tend to produce bread, we produce cakes predominantly!
This is in addition to being a cafe, so almost a cake boutique, afternoon tea is a big thing for us.
What is your favourite part of owning Sweet Things?
The smile on someone's face once they taste and love the product consumed, or their reaction. One lady said the chocolate nut crunch was the finest thing she has ever eaten!
If you could only eat one thing in Sweet Things, what would it be?
A slice of our Award Winning (Great Taste Award) flourless chocolate meringue cake with a scoop of our salted caramel gelato, a heavenly combination.
I have to ask you because I'm a fan! How has MasterChef changed your career?
It purely gives me more credibility, and a great talking point.
Greenberry Cafe is an adorable independently owned restaurant in Primrose Hill, superb brunch and lunch.
Notting Hill- Grangers is actually worth the hype and queue associated with it.
Thanks so much, I look forward to popping in some time!
