Several first-team players look set to leave the club in the summer.
It is fair to say that this season has been a disastrous one for Aston Villa after a summer of heavy recruitment.
It has been a struggle under former manager Tim Sherwood and current boss Remi Garde and they look set for relegation to the Championship next season.
When that happens, there is likely to be a fire sale of the current squad with a number of players expected to leave.
Given their form this season, there is not likely to be a long line of suitors, but there are some players that Premier League clubs could look to sign.
Despite playing in a Villa defence that has been poor throughout, and bore much of the blame for their sides’ problems, Amavi was one bright spark.
A knee injury picked up in November ruled him out for the rest of the campaign, but he had impressed the Villa faithful with a series of decent displays.
Those performances will have sparked interest in him, with many likely to be keen should he prove his fitness.
Unlike Amavi, Grealish has not had the chance to impress this season.
The youngster has spent most of the season on the sidelines, with a series off-field issues having seen him demoted to the youth squad and not feature in the first-team.
There is no denying he has talent though, as he showed under Sherwood, and should he be on the for sale list, many would consider him a gamble worth taking given his ability.
Another bright spark in a dark campaign for Villa has been forward Jordan Ayew.
His side have struggled for goals all season, and he is their joint top goal-scorer with five in the Premier League so far.
Indeed, as many as six sides were reportedly interested in his serviced before his move to Villa Park, and they could rekindle their interest again in the summer.
