Liverpool are keen on the Argentine and not so keen on keeping the Belgian.
Summer signing Christian Benteke has certainly struggled to settle in to life at Liverpool. He has struggled for regular football and to replicate his Aston Villa form since his arrival on Merseyside. Now he is being linked with potentially leaving the club this summer, especially after his comments about Jurgen Klopp this week.
It is now being reported in Italy that the Belgian striker might be used as a bargaining chip in another Liverpool transfer move.
A report in Corriere della Sera today, as relayed by Football Italia, is suggesting that Liverpool could offer Benteke to AS Roma in order to get their hands on impressive Argentine Leandro Paredes.
The report claims Liverpool are keen on the 21-year-old former Boca Juniors star and would be happy to offer Roma Benteke to bring in the player – who has impressed on loan with Empoli this season.
The report claims that Roma were keen on Benteke last summer but signed Edin Dzeko from Manchester City instead. The Bosnian has struggled in the Italian capital and now they may make their move for Benteke.
Paredes has played 26 times for Empoli this season, scoring two goals.
