Report: David Moyes interested in becoming Aston Villa manager

David Moyes is reportedly keen on the Aston Villa job.

According to The Mirror, David Moyes is interested in a return to management - and Aston Villa are the only Championship club he wants to manage.

Moyes, 52, has been out of work since leaving his role as Real Sociedad boss in November, having failed to rebuild his reputation in La Liga.

The Scot's stock has dropped dramatically since 2013, as having worked wonders with Everton, Moyes moved to Manchester United to become Sir Alex Ferguson's replacement at Old Trafford, but lasted less than a year before being sacked.

Now, with his Spanish experiment over, Moyes is looking to return to the Premier League and not the Championship according to The Mirror - but he would make an exception for Aston Villa.

It's claimed that Moyes will snub any offers from Championship clubs unless it's Aston Villa, who are heading towards relegation from the Premier League under Frenchman Remi Garde.

Garde is expected to leave Villa in the near future, having been unable to save the club from the drop to the Championship, and landing a manager like Moyes would be a huge coup.

Whether Villa move for Moyes is yet to be seen, but given the way he is allegedly making a special exception for Villa, they must at least explore the possibility of landing the former Preston boss.
