According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are keen to sign Lorient left back Raphael Guerreiro this summer, but will face competition from Arsenal.
The Reds are expected to be busy in the transfer market this summer, and already have Red Star Belgrade star Marko Grujic returning from his loan deal, and Schalke defender Joel Matip arriving on a pre-contract agreement.
Manager Jurgen Klopp will want to mould his own squad at Anfield having arrived back in October, and Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Southampton - a game where Liverpool were 2-0 up at half time - highlighted just how much work the German still has to do.
Now, the Daily Mail report that Klopp is keen to land a new left back to replace Alberto Moreno in Liverpool's starting line-up, and his long-term target Raphael Guerreiro is now being lined up for a summer move to Anfield.
Guerreiro, 22, joined Lorient from Caen back in 2013, and after hitting seven goals last season, the former Clairefontaine graduate has followed that up with three goals this term.
With three caps for Portugal, Guerriero's reputation is growing rapidly, and it's suggested that Klopp has been keen on him since his days as Borussia Dortmund boss.
However, Liverpool allegedly face competition from Arsenal for Guerreiro's signature, with the Gunners also keen to upgrade their options at left back, meaning it could be a fascinating race for Guerreiro's signature during the summer transfer window.
