Liverpool reportedly tracking Brest youngster Ibrahima Sissoko

The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Liverpool.

According to Thursday’s print edition of French newspaper Ouest-France in claims later posted online by foot-sur7, Liverpool are monitoring Brest midfielder Ibrahima Sissoko.

The 18-year-old has only appeared once for the French club to date and is very much one for the future, but that has allegedly not stopped Reds manager Jurgen Klopp from considering a move.

Sissoko only turned professional last summer and having previously been linked with a move to Newcastle United it is now another English club who are said to be considering a bid.

Klopp waited to see what he had inherited rather than making wholesale changes at Anfield in January. However, it is now abundantly clear the German needs to strengthen in a number of key positions, while signing potential stars of the future will also be on the agenda.

Sissoko certainly fits the bill in the second category and the France under-19 international is versatile enough to operate not just in midfield but also as a full-back if required.

With a contract until the summer of 2018, Sissoko does not need to be sold this summer, but if Liverpool come in with a decent offer the Ligue 2 club may be tempted.
