Birmingham City confirmed on their official website earlier today that Norwich City striker Kyle Lafferty has joined the club on loan until the end of the season.
Lafferty, 28, has played just 45 minutes of first-team football this season, making just three substitute appearances for Alex Neil's Norwich.
It's been a strange season for Lafferty, who ended Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifying campaign with seven goals to his name, firing his country to the finals in France this summer - yet on the club scene, Lafferty has been an outcast at Carrow Road.
Now though, he has a real chance to shine. Lafferty has moved to join Birmingham City on loan until the end of May, meaning that he will be available should the Blues reach the play-offs.
James Vaughan has yet to find the net in the league this season, and manager Gary Rowett may now see Lafferty as the man to take some pressure of Clayton Donaldson in attack, handing Birmingham another goalscoring option as they look to achieve a top six finish.
Now, Lafferty has taken to Twitter to send a message to Birmingham fans after signing his deal, admitted that he is excited to start his career at St. Andrews, with the ex-Rangers and Burnley man in line for his debut against Charlton away from home on April 2nd.
Delighted to announce that I have joined @BCFC on loan for the remainder of the season. Excited to get started.— KV (@LaffK) March 24, 2016
Also want to thank Norwich city for giving me the opportunity to get game time ahead of the Euros and best of luck in their remaining games.— KV (@LaffK) March 24, 2016
Do you think Lafferty will be a good signing for Birmingham?
