Hartlepool striker set for Tranmere Rovers move

HITC Sport understands Hartlepool striker set for loan move.

Hartlepool striker Scott Fenwick is poised to join Tranmere Rovers on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Tranmere boss Gary Brabin is keen to bolster their attacking options as they look to boost their promotion bid from the National League.

Tranmere currently find themselves in sixth spot in the National League, two points outside the play-off spots after failing to win their last three games.

The Prenton Park outfit allowed striker Jonny Margetts to leave on loan to National League rivals Southport earlier this week and they have identified Fenwick as an ideal replacement.

Fenwick has attracted the interest of a number of clubs after finding himself down the pecking order at Victoria Park this season.

The 25-year-old has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Hartlepool this season with 17 of those as starts.

Fenwick has still managed to score six goals this season after finishing as the club's top scorer in the league last season following his arrival from non-league Dunston.

Hartlepool boss Craig Hignett is happy to loan out Fenwick with his side currently nine points clear of the drop zone in League Two and looking like they avoid relegation.
