Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters have been left disappointed after Jed Wallace was ruled out with injury for up to six weeks.
Wallace injured his quadricep muscle during Wolves’ 1-1 draw against Burnley last weekend.
The 21-year-old had to be withdrawn in the latter stages of the match, and scans have revealed the full extent of the problem.
Wallace could now miss much of the rest of Wolves’ campaign, and that will be a bitter blow for the youngster.
Wallace was recalled early from a loan spell at Millwall, as Kenny Jackett wanted to give him a chance in Wolves’ first-team between now and the end of the season.
The attacking midfielder struggled to make an impact during his initial months at Molineux, but his performance against Burnley was highly encouraging.
However, Wallace will no longer be able to build on his display at Turf Moor, and Wolves supporters are frustrated for him.
@OfficialWolves another cruel blow, this seasons end can't come soon enough.— Alan Leese (@aleese59) March 23, 2016
@OfficialWolves Pretty much sums up the season unfortunately. Just 8 games to go though. Can't wait for this season to finish.— Chris Nicholls (@NichollsWWFC) March 23, 2016
Wolves have had terrible luck with injuries this season, with Wallace joining a long list of players on the treatment table.
