The Argentine believes he is maturing in Everton's back-line.
Everton have certainly had defensive concerns this season. The main portion of blame seems to have landed at the door of John Stones. The young England international had a poor spell of form earlier in the season and has now lost his place in the Everton starting XI to talented Argentine Ramiro Funes Mori.
The 25-year-old has been in great form this season for Everton and he is now away on international duty with La Albiceleste.
He has been speaking about settling in at Everton this week and Goal quote him as saying:
"You go through stages with games. You want to learn. And that is something that becomes permanent. I feel more mature.
"At River I made mistakes and learnt a lot. I try to improve in every aspect and enjoy as much as I can with great teams and players.
"I am happy to have this continuity."
Mori has indeed been impressive, but his performance against Arsenal at the weekend will certainly go down as a learning experience.
He struggled in the game, being sucked into battles high up the pitch and being caught in behind throughout.
But he is still young and, like Stones, will hopefully learn from tough days at the office.
Overall he has however proven himself capable of operating in the Premier League.
He has played 32 times for Everton this season and has even proved himself as a goal threat – with four strikes this season.
He has certainly had a good debut season in English football and will hope to continue that progression into next season.
