Taking a look at two young Aston Villa players who could make the step up before the end of May.
Aston Villa’s time as a Premier League club appears to be coming to an end, with Remi Garde’s side bottom of the table, eight points below the safety line with just seven matches remaining.
In short, it would take an absolute miracle for Villa to remain in the top flight beyond May and when their fate is inevitably sealed there could be chances for some of their stars of the future.
After Andre Green made his first appearance for Villa against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month, here are two more youngsters who could feature before the summer:
Keinan Davis has been named on Villa’s bench twice so far this season, for the league games against Norwich City and Liverpool, but could he go one better between now and May?
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder is only just making waves for the under-21s but he is an undisputed talent and deserves a chance to show what he is capable of.
Jerell Sellars is a 20-year-old striker who has scored seven goals in 17 under-21 appearances this season.
Depending on the ins and outs over the summer, the forward could have a big role to play at Villa next season so why not give him a few minutes now to get used to the step up?
Predominantly a centre forward, Sellars is also adept as a secondary striker or a left winger.
