The teenage goalkeeper is not 16 until May.
Belgian players are all the rage at the moment and Tottenham Hotspur have their fair share in their ranks.
The likes of Jan Vertonghen, Nacer Chadli, Mousa Dembele and Toby Alderweireld are all currently at the club and it seems a younger Belgian might be about to join them.
The move became clear after the comments of his older brother Thomas De Bie, currently a goalkeeper himself with Cercle Brugge. The 19-year-old told Het Nieuwsblad this week that his 15-year-old sibling Jonathan has been on trial at Tottenham Hotspur and is likely to sign a deal with the club:
"The chances are that he will soon sign a contract with the Spurs."
That story has been backed up by a report in Voetbal Primeur this week and it seems that De Bie will indeed become a Tottenham player in the future.
The 15-year-old is a Belgium under-16 international and is currently in the youth system at KV Mechelen.
He does not turn 16 until May, which is the most likely time that he would become a Tottenham player – owing to his age.
Of course De Bie would not be threatening the Tottenham first-team just yet but if he did arrive at the club he sounds like a talent to keep an eye on.
